ATM
Information
West Bank is pleased to bring an expanded network of no surcharge
ATMs for your convenience. Look for ATMs that display the Privileged
Status logo, the West Bank name, or both. We're West Bank @ Your
Service.
Q: What is Surcharging?
A: Recently five out-of-state national banks prevailed in a Lawsuit
to overturn Iowa's prohibition on ATM surcharges for cash withdrawls
made by non-customers. As a result, when you use an ATM not owned
by West Bank or a Privileged Status provider, you may be charged
a fee, known as a surcharge, by the ATM operator (or network used).
Q: Will I pay a surcharge when using West Bank ATMs?
A: No. West Bank customers may use any of our
conveniently located West Bank ATMs with no surcharge.
In addition, West Bank has joined with over 900 financial institutions
in metro Des Moines, in Iowa and 23 other states to provide you
with no surcharge ATM access. Nearly
2500 Privileged Status ATM machines are identified as members
of Privileged Status and are conveniently located at member financial
institutions, convenience and grocery stores, and other retail locations.
Q: How
will I know if I am using a no-surcharge machine?
A: Look for ATM's that display the Privileged Status Logo, the West
Bank name or both.
Q: Where are the no surcharge ATM machines located in Iowa?
A: In addition to the locations identified on our web
site map, you may visit nearly 1200 Iowa Privileged Status ATMs.

here.
Q: What happens if I use a surcharge machine by mistake?
A: ATM operators must provide a notice that a fee will be imposed.
This notice must be in a prominent and conspicuous location on or
at the ATM. In addition, operators must provide a notice on the
screen of the ATM (or on paper) BEFORE you are committed to pay
the fee. You will then have the opportunity to cancel the transaction
if you do not want to pay the fee.
