Frequently Asked Questions About Online Banking
How do I sign up for Online Banking?
Please visit your West Bank branch to complete an Online Banking
agreement. You will be provided with a unique user code and
temporary password to access the Online Banking service.
When you first access Online Banking, the system will prompt you
to change your password. The password you select should be 8 to
17 characters in length with at least 2 alpha and 2 numeric characters.
If you receive a message that your browser is unable to locate
the server, first confirm that you are able to access other Internet
sites successfully. If not, contact your Internet service provider
for assistance.
If you receive a "Security Error" message, it is likely that your
browser software needs to be upgraded. Refer to the paragraph above
for information on upgrading your browser.
Can I select my own Password?
Yes. After signing on for the first time, you will be prompted to
enter your new permanent password twice. This password must
be 8 -17 characters and include a minimum of two alpha and two numeric
characters. Do not change your user code.
What if the system appears to have locked me out due to an invalid
user code or invalid password?
If you attempt to log on to Online Banking three times with an incorrect
password or incorrect user code, you will be "locked out" of the
system as a security precaution. It will be necessary to visit any
of West Bank's eight locations to complete a form to "reset" your
online access. We will verify your identity at that time.
How
do I know my connection is secure?
A
secured page is indicated by a picture of a padlock near the bottom
of the browser window. When the padlock is highlighted and in a
locked position, the page is secured. If there is no lock at the
bottom or it is in an unlocked position, the page is not secured.
What does Verisign Security mean?
The confidentiality of each customer's personal information is of
the utmost importance to West Bank. That's why we have taken the
worry out of online banking with these protections: Unique User
Code, self-selected Password and Secure Socket Layer (SSL) Encryption.
The combined use of these elements provides online security and
enables you to view your accounts easily, safely and confidentially.
How frequently is account information updated?
Each business day, generally after 10:00 PM, account activity for
the day is processed and updated. Many transactions, such as ATM,
Debit Card and POS activity are updated continually throughout the
day.
After using Online Banking service for several minutes, why
was I prompted to log on again?
This is a security feature designed for your protection. If twenty
minutes elapse without any screen activity, the system automatically
ends your session and does not allow further transactions until
you re-enter your user code and password. This helps ensure that
others cannot gain access to your accounts in the event that you
leave your computer or have forgotten to exit at the end of your
session.
What if I stop using the Online Banking service?
If you decide to cancel or discontinue use of Online Banking, please
visit your nearest branch office to sign a cancellation request.
If you do not use the service for 90 consecutive days, online access
will be automatically discontinued. Your bank accounts will not
be closed, but you will need to re-enroll for online access.
